• COAL INDUSTRY: The High Court has approved planning permission for one of Europe's largest opencast mining projects at Ffos Y Fran in Merthyr Tydfil.

The scheme is set to extract over 10m tonnes of Coal over the next 15 years and create over 200 jobs in the Merthyr area.

23rd October 2006

• COAL INDUSTRY: Evans & Reid Depot relocates to Barry.

Evans & Reid Coal Company are relocating its Coal Depot to Barry Docks to take advantage of future opportunities in the Energy Market. The 10 acre site comprises the depot as well as a coal preparation site capable of washing and sizing product to exact specifications.
