Evans & Reid History

In 1880 Lt. Commander C. E. Evans formed his own Company, Charles E. Evans & Co to export solid fuel from South Wales. In 1922 the business was incorporated as Evans & Reid Coal Company Limited and this was the first of many companies which now comprise the Evans & Reid Group.

Group activities still include solid fuel distribution, but in addition pig iron and metal trading, the manufacture of cellular rubber products and secondary aluminium smelting are now included.

Further commercial activities encompass property owning and the management of land and quoted investments.

Group companies operate in specialist domestic and overseas markets, utilising accredited systems to promote excellence in finished products and services.
